Your Network is Your Network Worth; Build Connections with Students from Other States, Exchange of Knowledge Will Strengthen Your Interpersonal Skills”: Anurag Singh Thakur

Sujanpur Tira, August 8, 2026:
Former Union Minister and Member of Parliament from Hamirpur Lok Sabha constituency, Anurag Singh Thakur, today interacted with students at Sainik School Sujanpur Tira. During the interaction, he discussed various subjects related to education, personality development, nation-building and India’s defence capabilities, and encouraged the students to keep learning, connect with new people and continuously expand their knowledge.

Addressing the students, Anurag Singh Thakur said, “Your network is your network worth.” He said that students from different states of the country come to Sainik Schools for education. Therefore, whenever students meet their counterparts from other states, they should exchange their contact numbers and email IDs. In the future, whenever they visit those states, these contacts can help them access useful and meaningful local information. This will not only facilitate the exchange of knowledge but also strengthen their understanding, confidence and interpersonal skills.

He said Sainik Schools are not merely institutions providing education, but important centres that lay the foundation for future leadership and nation-building. These institutions inculcate discipline, leadership qualities, self-confidence, a sense of responsibility and commitment towards the nation among students. These qualities go on to play an important role in strengthening the power and capabilities of the country.

Anurag Singh Thakur urged the students to study extensively about the valour and heroic achievements of the Indian Armed Forces. He said students should learn about the Gallantry Awards, the extraordinary courage and supreme sacrifices of India’s brave soldiers. At the same time, they should also acquire greater knowledge about India’s military achievements, indigenous defence equipment, modern technologies, weapon systems and ordnance capabilities.

He said that India is rapidly moving towards self-reliance in the defence sector. Modern defence equipment is being manufactured within the country and the Indian Armed Forces are being equipped with new technologies. In such a scenario, it is important for students of Sainik Schools to remain aware of these achievements and the country’s growing defence capabilities, so that their sense of pride in the nation and their commitment towards it becomes even stronger.

The MP told the students that bookish knowledge alone is not sufficient to achieve success in life. They should continuously learn about developments taking place in India and across the world, emerging technologies, Indian culture, history and the achievements of the nation. He urged the students to make patriotism the central guiding principle of their lives and remain conscious of their duties and responsibilities.

He said students graduating from Sainik Schools go on to assume leadership roles in different fields across the country. Therefore, the responsibility of these institutions is not limited to producing good students, but also to nurturing aware, disciplined and patriotic citizens who can make a meaningful contribution to the progress and development of the nation.
