Shimla: BJP Rajya Sabha MP and Member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Energy, Harsh Mahajan, said that NHPC’s Chamera-II Power Station has sanctioned ₹75 lakh under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to strengthen healthcare services in aspirational Chamba district.
He said ₹50 lakh will be used to provide a modern laparoscopic machine, while ₹25 lakh will support free surgeries and treatment for poor and needy patients.
Mahajan said the initiative will particularly benefit people from economically weaker sections as well as residents of rural and remote areas, who often face difficulties in accessing advanced healthcare facilities.
He appreciated NHPC management and Chamera-II Power Station for the public welfare initiative and said such CSR interventions would help improve healthcare and other basic infrastructure in Chamba.
