“An organisation that forgets the struggles and sacrifices of its workers cannot move forward”
Bhota/Hamirpur, September 04, 2026: A workshop under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan and the monthly meeting of the District Working Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Hamirpur, was held today at a private hotel in Bhota under the chairmanship of BJP District President Rakesh Thakur. MLA and three-time former BJP State President Satpal Satti attended the meeting as the Chief Guest.
District In-charge Amit Thakur, MLA Inder Dutt Lakhanpal, former MLAs Dr Anil Dhiman, Vijay Agnihotri and Kamlesh Kumari, along with BJP office-bearers from the district to the mandal level, representatives of various morchas and cells, and party workers were present on the occasion.
During the meeting, BJP District President Rakesh Thakur presented a detailed review of the various organisational and public outreach programmes conducted by the party in recent months. Outlining the schedule of programmes planned for the coming days, he called upon all office-bearers and workers to ensure their successful implementation with dedication and commitment. He said that the BJP is a disciplined and cadre-based organisation, and the active participation of every worker remains its greatest strength.
Thereafter, District Media In-charge Vikramjeet Singh Banyal presented a condolence resolution in memory of former MLA and eminent social worker Ram Ratan Sharma, distinguished personalities associated with the BJP family who have passed away, and those who lost their lives in the Nepal tragedy. The meeting paid heartfelt tributes to the departed souls and prayed for their eternal peace.
During the review session, all Mandal Presidents also shared feedback regarding programmes organised in their respective mandals, organisational activities and preparations for upcoming events. Special emphasis was laid on strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level, enhancing the active participation of party workers, and effectively taking the party’s policies and the achievements of the Central Government to the people.
Addressing the workshop, Chief Guest Satpal Satti said that the Bharatiya Janata Party has reached its present position of strength because of the relentless struggle, dedication and sacrifices of lakhs of party workers. He said that the BJP’s journey has never merely been about attaining power; rather, it has been a journey dedicated to national service and the commitment to ensure development reaches the last person in society.
He said that an organisation that forgets the struggles and sacrifices of its workers can never move forward. The BJP respects and recognises the contribution of every worker, and it is this worker-centric organisational culture that distinguishes the party from other political organisations. He added that the experience of senior workers, combined with the energy and enthusiasm of the younger generation, continues to strengthen the BJP.
Satpal Satti said that the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh has become synonymous with corruption, false promises and anti-people policies. He said that after coming to power by making several major guarantees to the people of the state, the Congress government is now attempting to mislead the public instead of fulfilling those promises. The people of Himachal Pradesh, he said, are asking the Congress what happened to the guarantees on the basis of which votes were sought.
He further said that Congress has left no stone unturned in spreading falsehood and misinformation, from the Vidhan Sabha to the Lok Sabha. Having lost the strength to stand before the people on its own performance, Congress is now trying to regain political ground by levelling baseless and misleading allegations against the BJP.
He said that Congress has been continuously spreading false propaganda by portraying the BJP as anti-Dalit and as a party intending to change the Constitution, whereas the reality is entirely different.
Satpal Satti said that the Bharatiya Janata Party has always upheld the dignity of the Constitution and placed democratic values at the highest pedestal. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government has undertaken historic initiatives for the welfare and empowerment of the deprived, Dalits, backward classes and economically weaker sections of society. He said that the false propaganda being spread by Congress reflects its political frustration and desperation.
Calling upon party workers to counter the opposition’s misinformation with facts and the achievements of the Central Government, Satti said that every worker must reach out to the people and effectively communicate the welfare schemes, achievements and development-oriented vision of the government and the BJP.
He said that the party faces several important organisational and political challenges in the coming period, which can be successfully overcome only through a strong organisation and the active participation of dedicated workers.
Satpal Satti further said that BJP workers must strengthen the organisation by reaching every booth. He emphasised that the strength of the booth remains the foundation of electoral victory, and when the party has an active and committed worker at every booth, no political challenge can stand before the BJP.
The meeting also witnessed detailed discussions regarding upcoming organisational programmes and the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. Responsibilities were assigned to office-bearers, who were called upon to work collectively to ensure the successful implementation of all scheduled programmes.
