Kuldeep Rathore Calls for Protection of Voting Rights, Announces Congress Rally on November 1

Shimla, October 27:
All India Congress spokesperson and Theog MLA Kuldeep Singh Rathore said the Congress was fighting a major battle to protect the Constitution, democracy and people’s voting rights.
He said the party would organise a mega rally at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi on November 1 under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, with the slogan ‘Desh Bachao, Vote Bachao’.
As part of the campaign, a march was organised in the Tiyali zone of Theog Assembly constituency on Tuesday. Booth presidents, panchayat presidents and a large number of Congress workers participated in the march under the ‘Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao’ campaign.
Rathore alleged that democracy was weakening in the country and accused the Election Commission of acting under the influence of the BJP. He criticised Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, alleging that more than 13 crore citizens were being deprived of their voting rights.
He said the ‘Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod’ campaign would continue until the Chief Election Commissioner was removed from office.
On the occasion, Shimla Rural District Congress Committee president Harikrishna Himral urged office-bearers of the Theog Block Congress Committee and party workers to travel to Delhi on November 1. He said the INDIA bloc rally at Ramlila Maidan would raise its voice against the BJP and demand the removal of the Chief Election Commissioner.
