Shimla. Himachal Pradesh Licensed Service Area (HP LSA), Department of Telecommunications, observed Vigilance Awareness Week–2026 by organizing an Integrity Pledge ceremony on October 26, 2026, and a Vigilance Awareness Pad-Yatra on October 27, 2026, to promote integrity, transparency, accountability and ethical conduct in public life.
Vigilance Awareness Week is observed every year during the week in which the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, falling on October 31, occurs. The initiative, led by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), aims to raise public awareness about the harmful effects of corruption and to encourage collective efforts towards its prevention. The theme for Vigilance Awareness Week–2026, being observed from October 26 to November 1, 2026, is “सत्यनिष्ठा से समृद्धि” — “Probity for Prosperity.”
The theme underscores the importance of honesty, ethical conduct and probity in strengthening good governance, building public trust and contributing to the nation’s prosperity. As part of the observance, an Integrity Pledge ceremony was organized at the Conference Hall of the HP LSA office, Chhota Shimla, on October 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Officers and staff reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the highest standards of integrity and probity in the discharge of their official duties.
The pledge emphasized the importance of transparency, impartiality, accountability and adherence to ethical values in public service. Further strengthening the outreach efforts, HP LSA organized a Vigilance Awareness Pad-Yatra on October 27, 2026, from the HP LSA office at Chhota Shimla to the SDA Complex, Kasumpati, Shimla.
The Pad-Yatra aimed to disseminate the message of vigilance and integrity among the public and highlight the need for collective participation in preventing corruption. It emphasized that the fight against corruption is a shared responsibility of public institutions, public servants and citizens. Through these initiatives, HP LSA reiterated its commitment to fostering a culture of integrity, transparency and accountability in public administration.
The activities reinforced the message that probity in governance and ethical conduct in everyday actions are essential for building a corruption-free society and achieving inclusive and sustainable prosperity.
