Gayatri Parivar’s Contribution to Sanatan Dharma is Eternal: Anurag Singh Thakur
Hamirpur, November 2, 2026:
Former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Singh Thakur attended a programme in Delhi commemorating the birth centenary of revered Mata Bhagwati Devi Sharma and the completion of 100 years of the lighting of Akhand Jyoti. He participated in the event alongside former BJP National President and Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and other distinguished dignitaries, and interacted with members of the Gayatri Parivar.
Anurag Singh Thakur said that the lives of Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya and Mata Bhagwati Devi stand as inspiring examples of sacrifice, dedication, service and commitment to the welfare of humanity. From taking the message of the Gayatri Mantra to millions of households to challenging social evils such as caste discrimination and gender inequality, their guiding philosophy of personal transformation leading to societal transformation has given a new direction to society. The Gayatri Parivar’s contribution to the service of Sanatan Dharma remains eternal.
He emphasised that a nation’s progress cannot be measured merely through economic prosperity, modern technology or material resources. Its true strength lies in the character of its citizens, social unity, strong families and mutual trust. Our dharma and values teach us to place national interest above personal interest. Only by prioritising the nation can development become inclusive and sustainable.
Thakur further said that India’s civilisational ethos has always promoted humanity, coexistence and collective welfare. The principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, which regards the entire world as one family, is particularly relevant in today’s times. India’s greatest strength lies in its unity, mutual respect and cultural consciousness despite its immense diversity. By embracing these values, society can pursue progress with compassion and prosperity with a spirit of service.
