Shimla, July 16: SJVN Limited hosted the half-yearly meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (NARAKAS), Shimla (Office-2), at its corporate office on Thursday. The meeting was chaired by SJVN Director (Personnel), Ajay Kumar Sharma.
The committee reviewed the implementation and use of Hindi in Central Government offices in Shimla and discussed measures to achieve the Official Language targets set by the Government of India. Sharma urged member offices to continue their efforts towards maximizing official work in Hindi.
During the meeting, Sharma formally handed over the chairmanship of NARAKAS, Shimla (Office-2), to the Reserve Bank of India and extended his best wishes. RBI Regional Director Anoop Kishore appreciated SJVN’s leadership of the committee since 2015, highlighting its consistent efforts in promoting the Official Language through regular meetings and activities. He also noted that the Parliamentary Committee on Official Language has commended the committee’s work under SJVN’s leadership.
The meeting was attended by 54 senior officers representing Central Government offices, public sector undertakings, and banks based in Shimla.
