Shimla, October 13: Himachal Pradesh Congress president Vinay Kumar described the INDIA bloc’s protest against the Election Commission of India in New Delhi, organised under the leadership of the All India Congress Committee, as historic. He alleged that the BJP’s countdown had begun and accused the party of undermining the Constitution and democracy in collusion with Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He demanded the removal of the Chief Election Commissioner from his post.
Vinay Kumar said thousands of Himachal Pradesh Congress workers participated in the Delhi protest, demonstrating that any attempt at alleged vote theft by the BJP in the state would not succeed. He expressed confidence in the Congress party’s position in Himachal Pradesh ahead of next year’s Assembly elections.
During an interaction with party workers in New Delhi, the Congress chief thanked them for participating in large numbers and urged them to maintain the same enthusiasm. He called upon party leaders, office-bearers and workers to expose the BJP’s alleged irregularities and spread awareness among the public about the alleged vote theft and the Election Commission’s purported involvement.
He also urged Congress members to unite in strengthening Rahul Gandhi’s leadership and protecting the Constitution and democracy.
