Jairam Thakur also raised concerns over the reported suspension of major cardiac diagnostic services, including echocardiography, at Atal Super Speciality Hospital, Chamiyana, described as the state’s only multi-speciality hospital.
He said the decision to send the only staff member conducting cardiac investigations at the hospital to Hamirpur Medical College exposed the government’s failure and lack of foresight in its claims of “Vyavastha Parivartan”.
He said the suspension of specialist services and essential diagnostic facilities at one of the state’s most important super-speciality hospitals reflected the government’s alleged inefficiency and insensitivity towards patients.
The Leader of Opposition demanded that the government clarify where patients from across the state would go for treatment and diagnostic tests if the staff required to provide essential cardiac services was not available at Chamiyana.
He urged the government to immediately review the decision and restore all essential specialist services and diagnostic facilities at the hospital.
