Serious Questions Over Government’s Role in Vimal Negi Death Case; BJP Will Continue Fight for Justice, Calls for Stronger Booth-Level Organisation: Shrikant Sharma

Kinnaur, October 22, 2026
BJP Himachal Pradesh State In-charge and Mathura MLA Shrikant Sharma strongly criticised the Congress-led state government while addressing an organisational meeting of the Pooh Mandal at Nako in Kinnaur district.
Sharma expressed confidence that the people of Himachal Pradesh would bring about a change of government in the next Assembly elections. He claimed that widespread dissatisfaction with the Congress administration was growing across the state.
“The Congress government is on its way out, and the BJP is coming back to power in Himachal Pradesh. I am confident because the common people are deeply troubled by the functioning of this government,” Sharma said.
He alleged that the Congress government had failed to address the concerns of various sections of society. Young people were worried about employment opportunities, employees were struggling with their demands, and farmers and orchardists continued to face numerous challenges.
Sharma said that instead of resolving public grievances, the government remained preoccupied with political statements and controversies.
Referring to the death of Vimal Negi, Sharma raised serious questions about the state government’s handling of the case.
He alleged that the circumstances surrounding the case had created concerns about possible attempts to protect influential individuals and suppress allegations of corruption.
“The Vimal Negi case has raised serious questions about accountability and transparency in the functioning of the Congress government. The BJP has played a leading role in demanding justice for Vimal Negi and will continue to pursue the matter until the truth comes out,” Sharma said.
He demanded a fair, transparent and independent investigation, free from political interference, and appropriate legal action against anyone found responsible.
Sharma said that the death of an employee under suspicious circumstances was an extremely serious matter and that the bereaved family deserved justice.
He accused the Congress government of failing to satisfactorily address the concerns raised by the case and said that the BJP would continue seeking accountability.
Turning to organisational matters, Sharma emphasised the importance of strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
He said that “Apna Booth, Sabse Mazboot” (Our Booth, the Strongest) was not merely a slogan but a guiding principle of the BJP’s organisational structure.
He urged party workers to strengthen booth committees, conduct regular meetings, maintain close coordination and remain actively engaged with local issues.
“A strong organisation begins with strong booth-level committees. Every worker has an important responsibility in strengthening the party’s connection with the people,” he said.
Sharma appreciated the dedication of BJP workers operating in the difficult geographical conditions of Kinnaur and other tribal regions.
Highlighting the developmental needs of border districts, he stressed the importance of improving road connectivity, healthcare facilities, education, telecommunications and horticulture infrastructure.
He said that the concerns of tribal communities must receive priority and that the BJP would continue raising these issues before the appropriate authorities.
Sharma concluded by calling upon party office-bearers and workers to maintain organisational discipline, strengthen coordination and remain committed to public service.
He reiterated that the BJP would continue questioning the Congress government over its policies, governance and accountability while remaining actively engaged with the people of Himachal Pradesh.
