Shimla, August 25: The Shimla District Congress Committee (Rural) will undertake a major organisational strengthening exercise by appointing Sahakar Sarathi to promote the Congress ideology in the cooperative sector, Vichar Prabharis for party training, and Vichar Pramukhs to publicise the policies and development programmes of the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh. Spokespersons and media panelists will also be appointed to strengthen communication with the media.
Addressing a meeting of party workers of the Shimla District Congress Committee (Rural) at Rajiv Bhawan, Himachal Pradesh Congress Headquarters, Harikrishna Himral said that no effort would be spared to expand and strengthen the organisation. He said workers who devote time to the party would be given important responsibilities at the district level.
Himral said that the Congress organisation is strong in Shimla Rural and is being guided by strong leadership in Jubbal, Kusumpti, Shimla Rural, Theog, Rampur and Rohru. He also called for strengthening the organisation in the Chopal Assembly constituency and urged party workers to work together to further strengthen the leadership of the party.
Vinod Zinta, General Secretary (Organisation) of the Pradesh Congress Committee, urged party workers to follow organisational guidelines and maintain discipline. He said indiscipline would not be tolerated under any circumstances and every office-bearer would be expected to fulfil the responsibility assigned to them.
Zinta said suggestions received during the meeting would be considered and implemented. He added that office-bearers would be provided identity cards by the organisation. Regular party meetings at the district, block, zone, panchayat and booth levels would also be ensured. Efforts are being made to facilitate direct interaction between party workers and the Chief Minister, ministers and senior party leaders.
